Navjot Sidhu’s son Appointed Assistant Advocate General, SAD says case of nepotism.

Tourism and Local Bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu’s son Karan Sidhu has been appointed as Assistant Advocate General AAG to defend Punjab government in Punjab and Haryana High Court and Supreme Court.

Twenty-nine-year-old Karan Sidhu was also seen campaigning for his father who contested the 2017 Assembly elections as the Congress candidate in the Amritsar-East Vidhan Sabha seat.

The Punjab government has added three additional, 14 assistant and 11 Deputy Advocate Generals to its list of lawyers in the Advocate General’s Office for defending cases in the High Court and the apex court.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) has criticised the appointment and said that someone who is just an LLB pass cannot be appointed AAG. It is nothing but a clear-cut case of nepotism. They have also said that earlier the government appointed Navjot Kaur Sidhu as the chairman of the Punjab Warehousing Corporation and now Sidhu’s son has been appointed. Vineet Joshi the media advisor to the former Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Badal criticised the move while speaking to a TV channel
