Flying Officer *Tanish Singh Slathia* from Gurha Slathia Mandi Andrar is currently serving in Indian Air Force and making our community proud.
Born to father Sh. Harjit Singh Slathia, a benevolent Bank Officer in J&K, and mom Smt. Jiwan Jyoti, an educator-turned-homemaker, F.O. Tanish had a very rooted upbringing enriched in culture and values. After his primary education in Samba, he moved with his family to New Delhi where he continued his formal school education, excelling in different fields. He was also felicitated by the Times of India and conferred the Times NIE Student of The Year Award in school. He inspired many school mates in his role as the Head Boy of his school.
Securing a good rank in AIEEE, he came back to J&K and pursued engineering in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University in Katra. In the last year of his college, he got selected in CDS at 22 years of age and was commissioned to the Indian Air Force in December, 2016.
He continues to wear his Slathia heritage as a badge of honour.
