Elante Mall in Chandigarh bomb on the premises
Chandigarh Police on Monday evacuated Elante Mall in Chandigarh following an input which suggested there was a bomb on the premises. Following the input, shoppers were asked to move out, leading to chaos in the mall. It was later found out that the input was just a hoax.
The popular shopping mall in Chandigarh was hugely crowded because of the Eid festival. The Chandigarh Police are now on the lookout for the person who tipped them off.
Units from police’s bomb disposal squad, anti-sabotage teams, crime branch teams, operation cell teams, and local police teams carried out intensive searches of the mall and nearby areas. Senior Superintendent of Police, UT Chandigarh, Nilambari Jagadale, had got the area around the mall sealed as a preventive measure.
चंडीगढ़: एलांते मॉल में बम होने की अफवाह, पुलिस ने करवाया खाली
चंडीगढ़ के एलांते मॉल (Elante) में बम होने की अफवाह के बाद पूरे मॉल को खाली करवा दिया गया. चंडीगढ़ पुलिस को पीसीआर (PCR) पर सूचना मिली कि एलांते मॉल में बम रखा है जो जल्द ही फटने वाला है. इसके बाद पुलिस और स्थानीय प्रशासन द्वारा आनन-फानन में मॉल को खाली करवाया गया. लेकिन, अब तक की जांच में यह महज कोरी अफवाह लग रही है.
अब चंडीगढ़ पुलिस उस व्यक्ति की तलाश कर रही है, जिसने पीसीआर पर एलांते मॉल में बम होने की सूचना दी. दरअसल, एलांते मॉल में बकरीद की छुट्टी के कारण काफी भीड़ थी और ऐसे में अफरा-तफरी का माहौल बन गया था. पुलिस के मुताबिक, एक कॉल आई थी, जिसमें कहा गया कि मॉल में बम है जो थोड़ी देर में फटने वाला है. इसके बाद पूरा मॉल खाली करवा दिया गया
